All these symptoms may indicate the following periodontal diseases: a gingivitis or periodontitis and in the case of patients with dental implants, mucositis and periimplantitis.

PERIDONTAL TREATMENT

The evolution of periodontal diseases can trigger long-term dental loss or rejection of implants. However, periodontal diseases detected in time can be solved with successful results. Sometimes you can even completely regenerate lost bones and receding gums since there is a wide variety of specialized treatments that in specialized hands have a very good prognosis. The Facial Clinic team performs the following periodontal techniques: Scraping and root smoothing: indicated to eliminate bacteria accumulated in the mouth. Periodontal surgery: eliminates bacteria located deeper in the periodontal pockets. Regenerative surgery: indicated for recovery of lost bone by placing fillers that favor bone growth. Mucogingival surgery: allows correcting the quality and quantity of gum. Periodontal cosmetic surgery: procedures to correct aesthetic defects produced as a result of periodontitis or other periodontal diseases .

MUCOSITIS AND PERIIMPLANTITIS

Both are periodontal diseases that affect people with dental implants. First, mucositis is the inflammatory reaction around the soft tissues that surround a dental implant. It manifests normally with bleeding gums, redness, and pain. On the other hand, periimplantitis is the inflammatory disease around the bone that supports an implant. It is caused by a bacterial infection and favored by a series of risk factors such as alcohol or tobacco. Its most obvious manifestation is bone loss and is usually associated with additional inflammation of the surrounding soft tissues.
